Mardi Gras 2008

Yesterday we went to our 1st Mardi Gras Parade of the season. We started out at the Mystic Mutts parade and the girls just loved the doggies. It was kinda misty and cold - but we still had fun. Not much loot from that parade. After the parade was over we headed with a group of friends to the local pizza pub to dry off, eat and wait for the Knights of Ecor Rouge Parade. The rain finally let up and it was not to cold - We had a BLAST!! I left the camera in the car so it would not get wet and did not venture back to the car in the dark to get it - so the pics are from this morning. Check out the Sponge Bob slippers! We actually got more "stuffed junk" than ever before!!

I was cleaning the kitchen only to discover that the girls had taken

out all the books from their 4 book boxes! Books were everywhere and Bentley

decided she needed to read in the box.

Bentley got a new camera from Aunt Sherrie and Broder for Christmas - We just got it from the PO today. I have already had to delete about 4 times because she is taking pictures of EVERYTHING!!!

Today the girls played dress-up with new outfits they got for Christmas. Other than that it was a pretty low-key day. We played out on the deck - It was beautiful.

Day 5 of 365 Days of the Year 2008

As promised I am going to do my best to post 365 days worth of pics - so far I am 2 out of 5 days - Oh well that is better than none at all.

The girls were being soooo goofy today. It has finally warmed up and they were able to play out on the deck today - THANK GOODNESS. They have had enough sister time. Time to go back to school.

Thad's Birthday 2008

Today we celebrated Thad's 48th birthday with the annual Reuben Fest. The girls were not too excited about the sandwiches so they had "white" spaghetti. The girls and I baked him a birthday cake - he does not really like cake - and we sang Happy Birthday and that was about it!
As you can see from the pictures - the girls still have on their pj's (as well as a stocking cap) It was a pretty LAZY day.

Gibbs House

We decided to go to my sisters house in Hernando for the rest of the holiday. We had planned on leaving Friday the 28th - but Jameson decided her runny nose and watery eyes needed to turn into an ear infection on Thursday night - NO SLEEP!! I hurried around Friday morning to find a doctor to work her in - not easy when you are from out of town. We found one and indeed she did have an ear infection. By the time we got the medicine filled, visited with Granny and Granddaddy one last time - it was too late to start to Hernando. So we left on Saturday.

It was a truly LAZY visit - Not sure we even dressed the girls while we were there - They stayed in their pj's the whole trip. The girls had lots of fun with Callaway, Breland and Burkely Ann. They took bubble baths, played dress-up, made shrinky dinks, watched fireworks on New Year's Eve(from inside) and lots of just PLAY. We did not even make it until midnight for the New Year.

We headed out on New Year's Day and arrived back home late Tuesday afternoon.
